On June 24, 2016June 24, 2016 By Kurstin GrahamIn Day Trips7 Comments

This route has gone from a three part ride over a month's time to a three part ride over nearly two years. So many miles between the first leg of this tour in September, 2014 to finishing it in June, 2016. I think this is an outstanding route from Pyramid Lake to the Black Rock …

Ride Report: Pyramid Lake Shore

On June 24, 2015June 24, 2015 By Kurstin GrahamIn Ride Report4 Comments

A great day out with friends on the shore of Pyramid Lake. In northwestern Nevada if you talk about "the lake" most will think you are talking about Lake Tahoe. Lake Tahoe is a beautiful blue alpine lake surrounded by snow capped forested peaks, what is not to love? But when I think of the …

What a ride, Desert Creek to Lobdell Lake. It is a steady climb from 5000' to 9200' along a creek through the Sweetwater Range. Desert Creek is a fantastic place to camp, fish, ride, hike. Last year we had a bikepacking overnight here. I carried my @tenkararodco but didn't fish. It was a full day of riding. @drwelby joined in on what "seemed like a good idea at the time." Always a good time. #bikepackingnv #desertlife #mountains

Travels with #holga . I think I prefer color over #blackandwhitephotography but I will always shoot a mix. These shots are from the Calico Hills Overnight @blackrockdesert . The blog post is coming soon but I had to share. Climbing above the playa gave us such a unique perspective. #bikepacking #desert #ridewithfriends
Maybe bikepacking begins going to sleep under the stars. Until then you were just out for a ride with all your stuff. Day 2 began with a push. That push took us from the desert to the canyons of Black Rock Country. We had "flowers up the middle." Although day 2 still had over 2000' of climbing, we had almost 4000' of descending.
Six riders joined me for an overnight into the Calico Mountains as a part of my adventure ride series for @blackrockdesert . We climbed a road between the Calico Mountains Wilderness and High Rock Lake Wilderness. We camped at Donnelly Creek. The weather continues to be unsettled but it made for dramatic skies. #ridewithfriends #explorenevada #bikepackingnv
Fun day on the Little Truckee River between Stampede Reservoir and Boca. Always fun to land a rainbow on a dry that you tied. #tenkara #flyfishing #littletruckeeriver
